Pushing Daisies

Well good morning my little bunnies. How are you feeling this morning? I'm feeling quite well. I'm sitting here waiting on my Jordan to wake up and call me, because for some reason our phones refuse to text each other properly. But, hey, I'm not complaining.
Since I did happen to wake up so early, I got to dust off my old Pushing Daisies DVD's and give them a watch. If you've never seen the show Pushing Daisies, you really are missing out. It's my all time favorite show! I am so sad that they only made two seasons of it. I was introduced to this show by my friend Conner, and I watched every single episode on Netflix, and then it was somehow taken off Netflix, or I'm just stupid and I can't find it anymore. So, then my friend John bought me the DVD's and I am watching them. I love them so much I can't even say! They are so quirky and colorful! I just love them so much. Oh man.
So you should definitely watch them. That is, if you're cool enough. You probably are, but just making sure.
well, this was an unusually short entry, but my computer is about to lose battery life and go kapoot on me.
so I will talk to you folks soon
Stay Excellent!

I need your HELP

Time to write again already? Erg, but Hannah we're tired of reading your blogs! To that I say, first of all, ouch, and second of all look up in the left hand corner of your screen. There should be an arrow that points to the left. Click it! Bye! We're going to miss you!  So, If you are still with me, hey! I love you! Free hugs for you guys! Woo!  This is my first blog where I am going to ask for feedback. I haven't ever done that before because I am scared that I won't get any feedback and it will make me sad (meh) but honestly, if that's the worst that can happen. Then I'm going for it.  I have decided that I am going to really get into my photography, if you can even call it that. And by "really get into" I mean, I'm going to slowly start getting my name out there. I'm thinking that I'm going to charge a flat out $20 for a session and that will cover the cost of prints also since I will only be printing through Walmart. How terrible? I guess my question is to you, is that a dumb idea?  How many of you would pay $20 for pictures of you and your boyfriend, or best friend, or dog...just little things. I know this one is kind of short but I am really just begging for feedback! It would be super highly appreciated!  I love you if you kept reading  And I love you even more if you comment.  Gr8, stay excellent!

RAD RED

Good afternoon my fellow citizens of America! How are you all doing on this fine Thursday?
I'm procrastinating just a tiny bit. I have a banquet to attend tonight, I should be getting dressed, but I'm playing with my hair, makeup, and blogger.com. What can I say, I just love being silly you guys.
About a month ago, I went to my hair dresser (I use that term very very lightly considering that I've only ever seen her twice in my life) and asked her to dye my hair red. Of course, my super fine hair didn't take the color well, so my roots were fire engine red and the ends were all just blah brown. I was extremely disappointed and still had to pay the $75 for a cut and color. Which was totally not my hair dresser's fault. I feel weird typing the word's hair dresser. From now on, I'm just going to call her Stacy. That's her name.
So, Stacy told me to come back when the little red I had faded, and we'd try again. Within A WEEK, it had faded. Which, if you've ever had red hair, you know that it fades extremely fast. I just expected a little longer than a week to enjoy my red do. So, I went back in to see Stacy and she got a new dye and tried it out and it worked so well! I was so happy with my red hair! Yay! Go Stacy, go! But of course like all red heads, it eventually faded. Last night, I was feeling a little ambitious, so I went to Target and purchased the cheap $12 do it yourself dye. It was Feria brand I believe. But, I did all of the stuff and dyed my own hair, and it actually turned out just perfect. I'm happy with the result. But, I'm also slowly learning that red hair is a task to keep up with.
Just a few things I've learned:
1. You CANNOT wash your hair everyday and expect to keep red color. It just won't happen
2. Sulfate free shampoo is your friend.
3. Spending time and money on hair...well, you wanted it red, that's what you get

It is a ton of work keeping my hair up to it's beautiful Ariel the mermaid red color that I have so happily achieved, but I am just telling you guys, if you're ever thinking of going red, but you don't want to spend the time or money, then don't. You won't be satisfied with the result and it's just disappointing to dye your hair, and have it fade within a week.
So, I'm back to my red-headed-no-fade-self, and I am loving it! I even loved it so much, I did a "how to" video and posted it on youtube. woo! Go me!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rRg1Dg2H4A&feature=plcp
^^^ that's a link to my video, if you get bored enough to watch
and my red hair that I am oh so proud of... yayyy :)

I hope you all are having wonderful days, my loves.
Stay Excellent!

not everyone is crazy

hello new day, even though it is already 7:02 pm. I am blogging today because I finally got to take a trip down to Houston and get a laptop for myself! Macbook Pro! It's kind of a big deal, which makes me kind of a big deal.
I'm just kidding. I do love my new computer a whole ton, but that isn't why I'm blogging today.
Last night, my sister showed me a video of the suspect of the shootings in Aurora in court. He had his hair all died red, and the judge was saying all the stuff that he was guilty of, and it looked like the guy was falling asleep. He was rolling his head and around and making his eyes all big and then he'd close them...ugh, needless to say it really creeped me out. I don't think I will ever be able to comprehend the amount of crazy it takes to just go and shoot up 50+ people at a movie theater. That's the most ridiculous thing. Now I've read things that show he dyed his hair red because he's "the joker"
okay, psycho.
It really just scares me to think that we live in a world where these things even happen. This is one of the reasons I am not going to ever have children. But, I'm not going to make this about me. I just want to show my sympathy for those that lost loved ones or that were injured, or knew anyone involved with the shooting. I can't imagine, honestly. I don't live in Colorado, or really know anyone who does, but this is the best way I can think of showing my sincere hurt for the people that were involved. The world is crazy you guys.
But also, I like to take terrible events like these and try to make myself think about all the good people we still have.
Like Tom, from TOM shoes. I don't really know if that's even his real name, I'm sure the Sketchers' guy isn't named Bob, but that's beside the point.
Susan G. Komen, and all the awesome women that set up the runs for breast cancer awareness are really great humans. Even in times like this, Christian Bale has shown that he's a pretty awesome dude himself. I'm kind of glad he didn't go dressed as Batman...that seemed like a terrible idea, but he did go visit the victims, and that puts him up on the cool scale in my mind.
I really just wanted to express my sympathy for anyone involved in anyway. And I hope that I turn out to be one of the better ones in this world.
I hope you all have wonderful days until I write again
love love!

long time no (Tennes)see

Well, my goodness gracious. I do sincerely apologize for my absence ya'll. If you know me or have me as a friend on Facebook (which if you don't you should add me, I'm nice I promise) you know that I have been in Nashville, Tennessee this past week. If you don't know me, then you probably didn't know that, but since I just informed you, now you know. So, you're welcome.
I just recently got home, and by recently I mean a few days ago. I haven't been posting because, I was extremely ill with a very dangerous disease I like to call LAZY. I don't know why every time I get home from a trip I'm just like *face into pillow* and I stay there for God knows how long. And also, we East Texan's had a giant thunder storm blow through this area just a couple days ago and my home was without electricity for a whole 23 or so hours. LKJAEOGHADLVKJSAFLKJ
I hate losing electricity.
BUT, excuses aside, it's nice to type at you all again. I missed it!

I'm going to use this time to tell you all about my wonderful wonderful time in Tennessee, because honestly I fell in deep love with the city of Nashville. If you've been, then I hope you know what I'm talking about and can back me up, if you haven't been then...*hands you plane ticket* GO

Many people (including myself) have the assumption that Nashville, being the birthplace of country music, will be filled with ignorant hicks wearing cowboy hats and boots. Everyone thinks as soon as you enter Tennessee some strange hillbilly riding a horse will come up to you and be like "welcome to Tennessee ya'll! Here's a free can of chewin' tobaccy!" But that really isn't how it goes.
Total count for cowboy hats seen; ZERO and boots; about 2 pair
which, both of those pairs were worn by people who were in the group that went with me to Nashville.
It's actually an extremely friendly city that's filled with history! Honestly, there's something for everyone there. If you like sight seeing, we went on a Segway tour of Nashville, and though you look extremely ridiculous on a segway, and people take your picture randomly to laugh at you, it's a really cool thing to do! There's so much Civil War history in the city, and I'm sad to say I had no idea about all of it before I rode around like a total dweeb in a helmet on a Segway.
If you like to shop, oh dear Jesus there are plenty of places for you. Spending over $100 in an Urban Outfitters was my splurge of the trip. There are so many regular shops, but also the ones that can only be found in Nashville, like Hatch Show Print or some random something that I can't think of.
If you like to eat, which is everyone, there are so many amazing places to eat! We ate at Pancake Pantry, Demos', Edley's, Fido's Pet Shop, just to name a few. So many great places to eat! Don't get fat though. Nashville isn't as fun if you're fat.
There is so much more that we didn't even get a chance to do! There's a lot of great live music in the bars on Broadway, and the wonderful Grand Old/Ole Opry House (not sure the proper name) we did not get to see.
But honestly, Nashville was one of the greatest places I've ever been. I think everyone should visit at least once in your life time. Tell them Hannah sent you. They'll be like "who's Hannah?"
They love me!

But, I'm back home for now, and I promise not to stay away for so long next time!

Boasting and Ranting

I really just wanted to take a moment to brag about my amazing new lens. I absolutely love my new 50mm 1.8 Prime lens. Most people refuse to buy prime lenses due to the fixed depth of field, but it really does make a huge difference in the quality of your pictures. The color and feel just looks so much better! And maybe I'm crazy, but it seems a lot easier to use!
I definitely recommend Prime lenses to anyone who is looking for a cheap new lens. It's the best purchase I've ever made!
WOO!

These were just some excited shots I snapped when my lens first arrived in the mail. Sorry for them being so random and a little mediocre.
Stay Excellent!

Oriental Orientation

OH MY GOODNESS!
It's Friday the 13th. Did you know that? I actually was unaware of the fact until about 5 seconds ago. I always have this weird feeling in my stomach when I finally realize it's Friday the 13th, and then within a minute I completely forget what day it is due to some stupid distraction i.e. a butterfly, a dog playing with a toy, a noise, etc. For those of you who were unaware today is Friday the 13th of the year 2012...
oh, butterfly!

The reason I am blogging today, is not due to the creepy date. I just arrived back home from my college orientation! Joy! Rapture! yeaahhhh...
not at all
I first arrived at orientation and went to check into the dorm I was staying in for the night. My roommate (who is not going to be living with me this year, she was just my temporary roommate for the night) was already there unpacking some of her things. I gave her a simple "hello" to which she responded "hey, my name is Jessica." I know that doesn't seem strange, but the way she said it made it sound more like "hiiii-ey, my-e, nayme, es, Jeessicaaaah" I can't even describe the way it sounded, actually. Needless to say, I didn't say anything else. I started unpacking my things in the silence. She eventually left with a "Bye! It was nice to meet you!"
okay?
The rest of the day was completely uneventful. I was in a class all day. The day was literally one big lecture about things I already knew. To top off all the suck, everyone I met was on a sports team, which doesn't seem like a big deal, but they already all knew each other. It also made me feel like quite the bum.
Almost every conversation I had that day went a little something like this:

anonymous peer: Hey what's your name?!
me: I'm Hannah
anonymous peer: oh awesome! I'm *insert anonymous peer's name* Where are you from?!
me: I'm from Lufkin
anonymous peer: ...oh, where's that?
me: it's like an hour north of Houston
anonymous peer: oh yeah! I know Houston! I'm from Australia
me: wow...that's extremely far
anonymous peer: yeah, right?! so, what's your major?
me: I'm actually undecided right now
anonymous peer: oh man, that's cool. I'm pre-med.
me: that's really cool
anonymous peer: are you playing any sports?!
me: nahh, I'm not very athletic. are you?
anonymous peer: oh not many, just golf, soccer, volleyball, softball, water polo, track, and lacrosse
me: ...I have to go to the bathroom

and scene.

Okay, so no one told me they were from Australia, but they were from totally cooler places than Lufkin. It was just a bad day altogether. Mom and I ended up leaving early due to a "family emergency"

Don't get me wrong, I met some awesome people. I'm pretty sure this one girl I met is going to be my closest friend this year. She was the only one I found who did not play a sport or plan to major in "extreme." Going to orientation is really actually a smart choice, because you meet new people and you learn new things that you might need to know.
I, however, have an older sister that already went through college orientation, so I know the general idea of the freshman college experience.

The moral of this story? When in an awkward situation, go to the bathroom.
Stay wonderful!

Nuclear Bombs at Night

It is exactly 3:51 in the morning on July 10 of the year 2012. I'M AWAKE, and very much so. I feel like I could stay up all night and not be tired tomorrow either. What will probably happen is, I'll crash about 6:00am and then sleep until lunch time. Then I'll wake up and be extremely sour because I "wasted a day sleeping"
I hate sleeping lately. It seems like such a waste of time. I do my most creative things at night. Hoo Hoo. That was me making an owl noise. (geerr)
Speaking of sleeping, everyone in my house-and by everyone I mean my parents- is asleep at this moment in time. I have no problem with this considering that most normal Americans are asleep at this time because they have work in the morning. They aren't all crazy teens, or unemployed immigrants, or weirdos...ahem.
My parents are asleep. They will not be awoken. Not by me. No sir. I'm not facing the wrath of the sleepy mother. Isn't that one of the ten commandments? Thou shalt not wake a sleeping parent? Maybe I made that one up.
It seems like the more quiet I try to be, the louder I am. Like now, I'm gently pressing the keys down on my keyboard, yet it sounds like;
*CLICK CLICK CLICK* SPACE *CLICK CLICK CLICK* BACKSPACE *CLICK*
My footsteps down the hallway sound like nuclear bombs going off! It always seems that way though. Whenever you need to be the most quiet, you just sound like a one man band.
You're in church?
try sneezing without waking all the sleeping congregation to stare at you
Oh, you're in  class?
here's a fart that won't be silent even if you sew your butt cheeks together

...ew

Since we've gone with the whole "sleeping" theme for this post, here's a random fact about sleeping:
" Teenagers need as much sleep as small children (about 10 hrs) while those over 65 need the least of all (about six hours). For the average adult aged 25-55, eight hours is considered optimal"

Don't really have anything to say about that one, but there it is.

I suppose it's time for me to get some sleep. I will be working on a new blog tomorrow and I'm really excited about it. I've got my lighting situation figured out! (thank God) and also I am very excited to welcome a new tripod and a new lens into my camera family. *tear* I'm just so happy!

Goodnight my excellent friends,
now GO TO SLEEP
